An opportunity to consider philosophical ideas and questions of real relevance to all our lives. The kind of conversations we'd like to have but, in a busy world, seldom do.
The emphasis is on learning from the most powerful of teachers: our own experience. The only requirements are an interest in the subject and an open mind.
The course is offered at locations throughout much of Great Britain. Starting dates, evenings and times vary according to location.

The idea of a unity underlying all things can be found in many teachings, religions and philosophical system of both East and West. In the West this includes much of the bible, Plato and Shakespeare. A key principle is that within each of us there is something that is common to all, unchanging, pure and free.
This philosophy can be of real value in dealing with the problems that arise in our everyday lives, and also with the conflicts between communities and nations.
The approach of the introductory course is essentially practical, based on the notion that the only way we can really know something is to observe or experience it for ourselves.
Participants are therefore asked neither to accept nor reject the ideas put forward for discussion, but instead to put them to the test in practical experience, and use what is found to be valid and helpful.
